When it comes to art and design, there can be a blurred line between the two. I find them to be separate concepts that occasionally intersect. Design is meant to be understood, while art is interpreted. Design solves problems while art raises questions. In my perspective, all designs can be considered art, but not all art is regarded as design. I find myself on the back and forth on the spectrum, sometimes I am more an artist than a designer, other time, I am more a designer than an artist.
As a designer, I have worked in the space of advertising, marketing, retail, technology, and events, designing visualizations, strategies, and experiences for various brands. I have played roles such as creative director, art director, copywriter, interactive designer, and video editor. While some may classify me as a design strategist based on my latest experience, I choose not to limit my skills to a creative title or position. I view myself as an individual seeking to study and understand society, with the hopes of designing innovative solutions that cultivate connections between people.
As an artist, I find there are many universal truths that we all experience, despite our religious, cultural, and geographical differences. I believe these truths are non-negotiable and transcend our perception of time.
